Sustainability

The IDS Center has many ways for our tenant community to be great stewards of the environment.  We have significant programs such as:  a full scale recycling program; schedule events in the Crystal Court with Metro Transit on alternative commuting options; practice green cleaning methods; environmentally friendly purchasing practices and energy management programs to save on utility consumption.

The following are links to these various programs and opportunities that we encourage each and every tenant to participate:

Recycling Opportunities:  Our currently recycling programs consists of office paper, cardboard, newspaper, aluminum, glass, plastic, batteries and toner.  Check out the Recycling tab for detailed information on how you can integrate additional recycling opportunities in your suite.

Green Cleaning Practices/Purchasing:  Green chemicals are used for most of the property cleaning.  In addition, all paper products used at the property are 40% post-consumer recycled fiber and fall within the Green compliant guidelines.

Energy Management/Water Conservation: Energy management has always been an initiative the IDS Center management and ownership has taken very seriously.  From electricity to water, to steam and chilled water used to heat/cool the property, management is always looking for ways to deliver these services as cost effectively as possible.  As a result, the IDS Center was awarded the Energy Star award in 2010 and is recognized by Xcel Energy as an Efficiency Partner.

Commuting Opportunities:   The IDS Center regularly hosts events in the Crystal Court that offer tenant’s and visitors alike with alternative transportation opportunities.  The property is located on major bus arteries, has bike racks available for free bicycle storage both inside and out, and is within 2 blocks of the Light Rail Transit service.
